Undertakes Vol. 4

Undertakes is a series within the Forest Kids Collective as a 'mixtape' of 'cutting room floor' songs and ideas. A compilation of songs from various aliases within the collective that either didn't really fit a full release or was just some floater ideas that needed some 'finalizing'. Vol. 4 was honestly unplanned. January 2024 rolled around and I took a look at my projects and files after a productive 2023. Found 20 unreleased tracks that had enough potential for another Undertakes release so here we are!

Ambient Fingers Vol. 7

Ambient Fingers returns for the 7th consecutive year.
A blend of slushwave, mallsoft, dreamtone and vaporwave from both L a z u l i _ y e l l o w & INTERACTIVE CO. - this combo of sounds for this year's Ambient Fingers brings a whole new light into the series. Dreamy nostalgic textures paired with transcending melodies or dark filtered grooves lurking in the background. Featuring several nods and themes to previous Lazuli and INTERACTIVE CO. releases.

Ambient Fingers Vol. 6

This year consists of RANDEL .the ghost. with his warped and broken textures that make it seem that you're listening through some magical tape machine. Alongside Fever Aches. Having the whole record being composed of acoustic guitar this made sense to me. This is what it sounds like if you blend the simple acoustic guitar melodies from Fever Aches and the haunted dissonance of RANDEL .the ghost. you get this cacophonous cloud of sound. Themed and inspired by folklore, witchcraft and general spirituality.

Undertakes Vol. 3

Another year has passed so there’s another bunch of songs that didn’t make the cut. Mainly because stylistically these songs didn’t 100% fit the narrative I was going for in whatever project they were originally written for. Some of the songs under “Forest Kids” in this Volume was originally written for a sort of “Dark Disco” project including the opening track “It’s Not” by Aura Lynd. This years mix features 24 different songs that bounce from Indie Pop, lofihiphop, Vaporwave/Slushwave, VGM & Ambient, and of course some experimental tunes here and there.

Ambient Fingers Vol. 5

A melancholy blend of western inspired folk guitar and distorted drone and drone metal themes sprinkled throughout. Like the constant reminder of the sand and sun. That distorted grit that plays throughout the entire album is a lovely consistency that really gives this release a signature sound. The blending of these two aliases is a perfect match which is why this was one of the more satisfying; out-of-the-box ideas from the Ambient Fingers series. The slow sunset of peaceful folk guitar that devolves into pure drone and distortion. Hope you enjoy the fifth installment!

Undertakes Vol. 2

This years collection consists of more “put-together” songs that I left out of certain releases. Last year focused more on revamping and 2nd versions while this year hosts a plethora of cutting room floor songs. Most of these are from recent and future releases that I cut out last minute or just didn’t fit the direction. Features a RANDEL .the ghost. tape remix, a Suri Sunriser remix of line leader, a long lost Larry Nodder demo, horn features from Daniel Thomas, 2015 demos, and everything in-between!

Ambient Fingers Vol. 4

Unlike anything I’ve ever done before. An ambient album composed of all voice. No instrumentation used. I wanted to capture that empty wide sound that I feel only voice can project. There are scenes in my head that I just jumped to and stayed there as I recorded. Just getting lost in the echo and layers of my own voice. I combined Aura Lynd and Just the Architects this year because they are the lead vocalists of the Collective.
Inspired by Geotic - Sunset Mountain.

SAGATRACKS MIX.1

A collaboration between the collective and noyuzr (Nigel Phillips); friend and visual collaborator. It all started when noyuzr sent me a large grouping of different ideas. After just a few night me adding and working with them we have SAGATRACKS MIX.1. Planning to do this kind of collaboration with others in the future. It’s always fun to make a collective mix of multiple aliases, now collaborating with someone on top of that has really made this a fun release and will be an impressive series.

Undertakes Vol. 1

The first installment of Undertakes which will be a series of mixtapes released every 2/7 in honor of FKC. Undertakes hosts B-Sides, Unreleased songs, Remixes, Collabs, and Alt. Versions of older and new songs. From 2015 till now these songs have been just sitting on the back burner. After a few touch ups they go pretty nice together. Mainly electronic, but there are several ambient songs that finish off the album. Enjoy~

Ambient Fingers Vol. 3

The slow dance of two synth heavy projects in the collective. Taming WAVE COMPLEX’s constant running synths to a slow stroll. Truly showcasing the wavy droney synths that are _XPRESSWINDOW with the tint of positivity that WC brings to the table. Some piano based songs and a second version are in the mix as well. Easy to get lost in.

Ambient Fingers Vol. 2

The collaboration series continues with Crossing Bridges and Violet A. Foster. Each song hosting extremely textured and cinematic moments. From bombastic and wide to small and fragile, Violet’s blurry-noise style mixed with the straightforward minimal ambient from Crossing Bridges.
